Transparency and Accountability Initiative (TAI) is a donor collective comprised of leading funders committed to building a more just, equitable and inclusive society. After a 1-year transition period, TAI needed a new web presence that more accurately reflected the current climate of good governance and grant-making practices of its members–Ford Foundation, Omidyar Network, Open Society Foundations and Hewlett Foundation. We were tasked by TAI’s leadership team to design and develop their new website and give their brand a facelift.
This beautiful and functional site establishes TAI’s voice in the public eye and introduces a more approachable way of digesting their content. Like many research-based organizations, TAI has accumulated a wealth of knowledge. Many of their insights, however were hidden in a confusing and lengthy report archive section. To bring their insights to life we designed a more delightful and friendly-user experience for finding and interacting with their content.
One of the key challenges of this project was figuring out how best to organize the variety of information TAI wanted to get across. We ran a design sprint and created moodboards to identify the most cost-effective functionality that aligned with TAI’s goals. Since we wanted people to easily discover content without having to dig too deep, we introduced responsive content cards, an editorial feed, and a “Perspectives” section that reframed insights into thought-provoking questions.
